Job summary

Golden Valley Electric Association is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer in Fairbanks to protect critical cyber assets, infrastructure, and information. You will help maintain cybersecurity systems, lead risk mitigation, and support ongoing compliance programs in a mission-driven environment.

The role requires strong communication, collaboration across IT/OT and other departments, and the ability to participate in incident response and recovery planning.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of cybersecurity experience.
• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of standards such as RRC CIP, NERC CIP, PCI DSS, and DFARS.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and mitigate cyber and physical security risks.
• Support security compliance assessments and audits.
• Assist with incident response and recovery planning.
• Collaborate with IT, OT, Engineering, Legal, HR and other teams to secure networks and access.
