Cyber Security Engineer (Penetration Tester) Job Category: Information Technology

The Opportunity: CACI seeks a motivated, mid–level Cyber Security Engineer to support the C5ISR Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. You will join a team of cyber security engineers to perform vulnerability assessments for the Cyber Security (CS) Division at the Engineering and Services Innovation (ESI) Directorate.

Responsibilities:

1. Work on a small team of cyber engineers to perform security assessments in search of vulnerabilities and identify mitigations.
2. Conduct vulnerability assessments on web applications, networked devices, standalone software products, and other technologies as assigned using the penetration testing life cycle.
3. Maintain test efficacy by identifying and applying new testing tools and techniques.
4. Conduct research and development efforts to explore current and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

Required:

1. An active DoD Secret and obtain TS/SCI clearance.
2. All work is performed on site at APG, MD. Telework is not available.
3. DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or equivalent).
4. Must have 5+ years of experience with offensive security/penetration testing tools and methodologies to assess technologies for vulnerabilities and exploits at the network and application levels.
5. Intermediate knowledge of Linux and Windows internals.
6. Thorough technical understanding of networking protocols, hardware, and software.
7. Ability to interpret network traffic to understand communications and identify security vulnerabilities using Wireshark, Burp Suite, etc.
8. Familiarity with hypervisor virtualization (VMware, VirtualBox).
9. Ability to effectively communicate through written and verbal means, to include conveying technical information to team members, leadership, and clients.
10. Must be able to work in a lab setting.
11. Work efficiently both individually and as a team.

Desired:

1. An active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
2. OSCP or equivalent certification.
3. Basic cryptography knowledge.
4. Basic programming / scripting experience (Python, Java, C/C++, bash).
5. Code analysis and reverse engineering experience.
6. Familiarity with COTS/GOTS radios, SDRs, and RF concepts.

Pay Range:

The proposed salary range for this position is: $75,200 – 158,100 USD. CACI is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
