Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking a Network Security Engineer III to lead enterprise-wide security initiatives across large-scale networks. You will design secure architectures, assess risks, and manage WAN/LAN/CAN security, including firewall and load-balancer platforms.

The role requires active TS/SCI clearance and DoD certifications. Responsibilities include incident management, SOP development for security tools, and liaison with government authorities.

Qualifications

• Current TS/SCI security clearance with willingness to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Related work experience considered instead of degree).
• Minimum of six years in Network Security with large-scale enterprise/global networks.
• DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ minimum).
• CSSP Infrastructure Support certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and implement enterprise-wide network security solutions.
• Design, tests, and implement secure network architectures.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide design recommendations.
• Manage WAN, LAN, CAN, and remote network security; support Tier 3 incidents.
• Oversee security infrastructure sustainment, maintenance, and configuration.
• Report, document, and investigate security incidents; develop corrective measures.

Compensation & Benefits:

$150,00-$155,000: Pay commensurate with experience.

Network Security Engineer III Responsibilities Include:

• Work with both corporate and customer leadership to research, analyze, and implement enterprise-wide network security solutions/capabilities/enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectives.
• Assists with designs, analyses, tests, and implementation of state-of-the-art secure network architectures.
• Conducts risk assessment and provides design recommendations.
• Manage WAN, LAN, CAN, and remote network security as well as support Tier 3 incident and problem management.
• Oversee security infrastructure sustainment, maintenance, and advanced configuration. (firewalls, F5 load balancers, web gateways, mail gateways, IDS, and management tools).
• Oversee the reporting, documentation, and investigation of all security-related incidents; lead the development and implementation of corrective measures.
• Responsible for the development and execution of standard operating procedures for security tools.
• Evaluate and report on new network Security technologies to enhance the capabilities of the network.
• Act as liaison to the contract and customer management and government Designated Approving Authority (DAA) about all network security status, policies, and procedures.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Network Security Engineer III Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

• Current TS/SCI security clearance with the willingness and ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Related work experience considered instead of degree)
• Minimum of six (6) years related technical experience in Network Security and experience with large-scale enterprise/global networks in a highly diverse environment
• Required Certifications:
  • DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification. (Security + minimum to start)
  • Must obtain a CSSP Infrastructure Support certification within 6 months of the date of hire.
• Ability to work independently with little direction and guidance
• Ability to work weekends and evening hours as needed
• Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to develop analytical documents and present oral presentations to senior/executive management
• Proficient in MS Office suite - Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
• Travel up to 15% of the time CONUS, maybe occasional OCONUS
• Understanding and experience with the DoD Architecture Framework and other key DoD network architecture and strategic planning instructions.
• Expert knowledge of IP services
• Experience in providing status reports and products to senior management and customers
• Experience with Juniper SRX, Palo Alto Firewall, F5 Load Balancer, Cisco FTD/ASA
• Experience with plans, designs, and evaluations of security systems and architectures.
• Experience with Unix, RHELS OS, Windows Enterprise AD architecture, and VMWare virtualization experience
• Ability to develop new concepts and processes.
• Ability to analyze root causes and resolve issues.
• Ability to support junior level technicians and specialists in their activities.
• Ability to perform all tasks of lower level technicians or specialists.
• Ability to work individually, actively participate on integrated teams, and lead a task, project or team.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
