Job summary

Spectraforce Technologies is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer for an 18-month contract to hire. The role focuses on threat monitoring, IAM/security tooling, and secure container practices with Kubernetes and Docker.

You will work in a fast-paced environment advising on security controls, performing scripting in Python, and applying vulnerability analysis and incident response skills. Bachelor's in CS or equivalent required; primary locations Southlake, TX, with Austin or Phoenix as secondary

Location

Preferred work location Southlake, TX and Secondary Locations Austin, TX or Phoenix, AZ.

Responsibilities

• Monitor emerging security threats and assist with developing detection mechanisms.
• Support and troubleshoot IAM and enterprise security technologies.
• Work with Kubernetes, Docker, and scripting to support security initiatives.
• Troubleshoot network and security issues while maintaining a high level of client confidence.
• Collaborate with team members while also working independently on assigned tasks.

Required Experience

• 3-5 years of Security Engineering, IAM, or related experience.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Development or scripting experience (Python or similar).
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Linux, Firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and penetration testing.
• Knowledge of application security, DDoS mitigation, malware protection, wireless security, VoIP security, and network traffic analysis.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Preferred Experience

• Single Sign-On (SSO) experience.
• Federation or other IAM technologies.
• Experience with Ping Identity products, including PingFederate, PingID, and PingAccess.
• Experience with HYPR Affirms or passwordless authentication solutions.

Note: Ping Identity experience is preferred but not required. The hiring manager is willing to train candidates with a strong IAM or federation background.
