We are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer who is passionate about protecting systems, solving complex security challenges, and automating threat responses in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environment.
This is a full-time, permanent position that can telecommute. Travel once a quarter to Knoxville, TN will be required.

Job Responsibilities
- Harden systems based on best practices and guidance from the Director of Information Security.
- Automate and manage patching for Virtual Machines (VMs) and endpoints.
- Configure Microsoft Defender and Intune for compliance, device management, and patching.
- Perform onboarding and offboarding for employee and contractor accounts and devices.
- Develop secure Azure policies for deploying infrastructure.
- Configure Azure Sentinel for incident response, logging, and alert tuning.
- Respond to cybersecurity incidents, including malware removal and remediation.
- Develop DevOps scripts to automate key cybersecurity processes.
- Write technical documentation using Markdown or wiki-based formats.
- Work in an Agile/Scrum project environment, contributing to security deliverables and sprint tasks.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field with 6+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience.
- Alternatively, 10+ years of IT experience with significant direct cybersecurity expertise.
- Proficient in Linux system administration, with strong CLI and SSH skills.
- Experience configuring cloud security services—preference for Microsoft Azure.
- Skilled in automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash, etc.) for patching and security tasks.
- Experience with CIS Benchmarks, STIGs, or other hardening standards.
- Familiar with incident response procedures and tools, particularly Azure Sentinel and KQL.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Must complete a background check and random drug testing.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active certifications: Azure AZ-900 and AZ-500, or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
- Additional security certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+, CEH, etc.) are a strong plus.
- Experience working in a SaaS or cloud-native environment.
- Previous involvement in audit support or security certifications (FedRAMP, ISO 27001, etc.).
- Familiarity with Agile project management and geographically distributed teams.
- Passion for continual learning and staying current with cybersecurity trends.
