Job summary

Peraton is seeking an Expert Cyber Security Engineer for a critical National Security program in Springfield, VA. This role is 100% onsite with no remote option and offers heavily subsidized benefits, 25 days of PTO, and eligibility for a bonus plan.

Required qualifications include a Master’s degree in a STEM field or 18+ years of cyber security experience, DoD 8570 Level II IASAE, and TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain with poly. You will lead security architecture and engineering efforts.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, or related STEM degree, or 18+ level work experience as a Cyber Security Engineer.
• 18+ years of working experience in government or industry within Cyber Security.
• DoD 8570 Level II (IASAE) certification compliance.
• TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly.

Responsibilities

• Assists with leading development teams working to design and develop information systems or upgrade legacy systems.
• Conducts AoA activities that independently identify the most appropriate security solutions.
• Assists with leading the development of system concepts, contribute to the capability phase of the systems development lifecycle, and translate technology and environmental conditions into system security designs and processes.
• Assists with leading the development and documentation of Security Architectures, Roadmaps, and investments.
• Oversees the work of Senior-, Mid-, and Junior-level contractor Cyber Security Engineers.

• Expert working experience in government or industry leading enterprise-level cyber security efforts involving architecting, designing, development, and configuration of cloud and on premise based systems and software.

• Experience engineering Cyber Security solutions using structured and unstructured Big
• Experience engineering Cyber Security solutions using Automation, Augmentation and Artificial Intelligence technologies.

Expert Cyber Security Engineers capture and refine information security requirements and ensure that the requirements are integrated into information technology component products and information systems through purposeful security architecting, design, development, and configuration.

Duties include:

• Assists with leading development teams working to design and develop information systems or upgrade legacy systems.
• Conducts product research and support Analysis of Alternative (AoA) activities that independently identify the most appropriate security solutions.
• Assists with leading the development of system concepts, contribute to the capability phase of the systems development lifecycle, and translate technology and environmental conditions (e.g., law and regulation) into system security designs and processes.
• Assists with leading the development and documentation of Security Architectures, Roadmaps, and investments.
• Oversees the work of Senior-, Mid-, and Junior-level contractor Cyber Security Engineers.

Location: This position is 100% onsite in Springfield, Virginia. Remote or hybrid work is not available.
