Qualifications

Overview

Please note that this position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid.

Nisga'a CIOPS provides hands-on experienced services to civilian and DoD programs worldwide. Delivering highly skilled, cleared personnel who provide services on five continents for a portfolio of customers.

Summary:

The Cyber Security & Control Systems (CSCS) Storage & Virtual (S&V) Program Support Architect is an on-site position located at Joint Base Langley - Eustis AFB, VA. The CSCS S&V Program supports the Server Consolidation Environment (SCE) and Air Force Provisional Enterprise Data Center (AFPEDC) programs. This role includes testing, implementation, and sustainment of solutions, ensuring system performance, and applying industry-standard concepts, practices, and procedures. The position will work closely with appropriate teams and will act as a liaison for AFLCMC/HNI.

The primary role is to support the SCE hosted virtual infrastructure providing virtual servers and backup support located at Langley AFB. The architect will provide on-site and remote engineering and integration services, including system architecture, solution design, performance audits, system reviews, documentation, and data migration. Other duties include performing site audits, technical account management, managing third parties, providing technical assistance and mentoring, and offering cybersecurity recommendations to support ATO within the RMF system.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Provide integration of new applications, including coordinating design reviews, providing Material lists for expansion, and coordinating with application teams or contractors.
  2. Document as-built drawing changes to the system.
  3. Perform system expansion or contraction planning activities.
  4. Support the PMO in onboarding new applications as required.
  5. Support migration of existing SCE/AFPEDC applications to other platforms.
  6. Provide VMware engineering design and architecture support for Data Center Consolidation.
  7. Provide Cisco UCS engineering design and architectural support.
  8. Provide SAN engineering design and architecture support.
  9. Provide Commvault engineering design and architecture support.
  10. Perform IA assessment and remediation.
  11. Monitor system performance regularly.
  12. Resolve deployment problems in the production environment.
  13. Review contractor submittals of System Design and Architecture Reports and Tech Orders.
  14. Evaluate existing architecture and site-specific data center services to determine change requirements.
  15. Support PMO in creating and incorporating architecture and design best practices.
  16. Generate and test TCTOs for changes at SCE/AFPEDC sites.
  17. Travel estimated at two trips per year within the Continental US, with potential for additional travel.
  18. Provide troubleshooting, configuration, and management support as needed.

Risk & Compliance Management

  • Ensure compliance with DoD, Air Force, and industry security standards.
  • Maintain operational readiness according to procedures and policies.
  • Assist in conducting risk assessments and applying mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong leadership with experience managing multidisciplinary staff.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical knowledge of network and systems infrastructure.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in mission-critical environments.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and technical personnel.
  • Familiarity with U.S. DoD & U.S. Air Force procedures and the Air Force Information Network (AFIN).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A degree in a related field and at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a total of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting DoD Information Network, AFIN, or equivalent.
  • Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II Certification.
  • Valid and current SECRET (or higher) security clearance.
  • Two or more of the following:
  • Dell/EMC Storage Area Networks and Backup storage, VMware virtualization.
  • Experience with ESX Server, Virtual Center, Vmotion, High Availability, DRS, and Backup.
  • Experience with HP Blade systems.
  • Commvault Simpana and EMC Data Domain software experience.
  • Brocade Fabric switching experience.
  • NCIE NetApp SAN certification or equivalent.
  • Eight years experience with Microsoft Server.
  • CyberArk Level 2: Defender Certification.
  • Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) with experience in routers, switches, network fabric.
  • Cisco UCS Compute and Networking experience.
  • Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) Data Center.
  • Network+ certification.
