Job summary

Freedom Technology Solutions Group in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Cyber Support Specialist to join our Cyber Security Team. You will shepherd IT systems through A&A processes, monitor compliance, and support 24/7 on-call operations across Tier 2/3 support.

You will work with Linux/Windows environments, perform log analysis, vulnerability scanning, and coordinate with Sponsor personnel to address threats and improve security metrics. A polygraph clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in cyber security, InfoSec, cyber security engineering, or network engineering.
• Demonstrated experience with vulnerability scanning tools.
• Demonstrated experience analyzing and documenting test results.
• Demonstrated experience assessing systems against information assurance policies and regulations.
• Demonstrated experience communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating and performing cyber security testing.
• Demonstrated experience developing risk assessment and certification reports.
• Demonstrated experience leading cyber security accreditation efforts for enterprise systems.
• Demonstrated experience recommending mitigating countermeasures to identified threats, vulnerabilities, or shortfalls.
• Demonstrated experience with Linux operating system.
• Demonstrated experience writing and reviewing documents such as requirements specifications, system architecture, design documents, test plans, or cyber security plans.
• Demonstrated experience decomposing functional requirements into technical requirements.
• Demonstrated experience analyzing existing systems and identifying necessary corrective actions and improvements.
• Demonstrated experience preparing program documentation such as CONOPS, SSP, and preparing materials to support system accreditation.
• An active security clearance with polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Shepherd IT systems through Assessment & Accreditation (A&A) processes.
• Assist with continuous monitoring to sustain accreditation.
• Collaborate with Sponsor personnel to improve requested metrics.
• Create A&A documentation such as SSP and Continuous Monitoring plans.
• Identify countermeasures to latest IT threats and mitigation approaches.
• Perform configurations of cyber security related systems.
• Use log analysis, incident response, vulnerability scanning, and automation tools.
• Decompose customer requirements into technical solutions.
• Brief at information systems architectural boards at the Group level.
• Provide 24/7 on-call Tier 2/3 support and problem resolution.
