Job summary

Referentia Systems, Inc. is seeking a Midlevel Cyber Analyst to perform risk assessments and support the DoD program in the Hampton, VA area.

The role focuses on identifying vulnerabilities, evaluating mitigations, and contributing to security policy improvements within the AFNET/DoD environment. The ideal candidate holds a BS in a cybersecurity-related field, IAM Level II, 5+ years of cyber risk experience, DoD security clearances, and strong written/verbal communication skills to work with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems required; equivalent work experience may substitute.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• IAM Level II Certification per DoD 8140 baseline required.
• At least 5 years of cyber risk assessment experience or work with AFNET/DoD technologies.
• Familiarization with NIST SP 800-53, AFI 17-130, and DODI 8510.01.
• Strong planning, organization, and analytical skills; detail-oriented.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Active DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Determines vulnerabilities and residual risk from artifacts, interviews, and system state analysis.
• Evaluates effectiveness of proposed mitigations.
• Contributes to recommendations on technical and policy changes to mitigate cybersecurity risk.
• Collaborates with teammates to ensure timely, high-quality cybersecurity assessments.
• Supports security requirements elicitation through client and SME input and independent research.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
