Job summary

Peraton in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Cyber Network Operator to manage and install network technologies, train colleagues, and prepare operational launch platforms for mission support.

The role requires TS/SCI with poly, 8+ years with BS/BA (or 6+ MS, 3+ PhD), and deep familiarity with network security tools and operating systems. Candidates should be able to convey complex concepts clearly and work across teams.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years with BS/BA; 6+ years with MS/MA; 3+ years with PhD
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance, with polygraph
  • Government certification or equivalent
  • Ability to evaluate and articulate technical risk
  • Understanding of computer networking architecture
  • Proficiency with network-security technologies: firewalls, proxies, ipchains, iptables, SNORT, NMAP and related products
  • Proficiency with basic internet functionality, ISPs and network traffic
  • Possess system administration level knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Unix, Linux, Mac OS, Mobile OS)
  • Ability to convey technical and non-technical information clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to apply analytical thinking to decision-making and problem solving
  • Understanding of fundamental technical network analysis
  • Ability to train others on operational methodology, tool development, equipment functionality and de-confliction
  • Certifications: OSCP, OSWE, GXPN, GPEN, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with commonly used large-scale service components (webservers, databases, load balancers, caching servers, storage cluster, etc.)

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
