A Day in the Life

The Cybersecurity organization is responsible for protecting Medtronic’s information assets, systems, products, and digital capabilities through the implementation of security controls, governance frameworks, and risk management practices. Within Cybersecurity, the Identity and Access Management (IAM) function delivers identity governance, access management, and lifecycle services that enable secure access for workforce, contractor, application, and machine identities across the enterprise. The team partners with technology, business, compliance, and security stakeholders to strengthen access controls, reduce risk, and support regulatory and audit requirements. This position is based in Mounds View, Minnesota. The role follows a flexible work arrangement with an on‑site presence expected four days per week and one remote workday per week. No travel is required.

The Cyber Information Assurance Analyst supports Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) capabilities with a primary focus on SailPoint Identity Security Cloud. This role partners with cybersecurity, infrastructure, application, and business teams to implement and maintain identity governance controls, support identity lifecycle processes, manage access risks, and contribute to enterprise IAM initiatives. The position supports application onboarding, access governance, role management, certification activities, and identity‑related compliance requirements across a complex enterprise environment.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation, configuration, integration, and ongoing operation of SailPoint Identity Security Cloud solutions.
  • Participate in identity lifecycle management processes, including provisioning, access governance, role management, certification campaigns, and entitlement reviews.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to troubleshoot identity‑related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Gather, document, and analyze business and technical requirements to support Identity and Access Management initiatives.
  • Translate business requirements into Identity Governance and Administration solutions aligned with security, compliance, and operational objectives.
  • Support application onboarding activities and ensure appropriate identity governance controls are established and maintained.
  • Assist with project planning activities, including testing coordination, milestone tracking, implementation planning, and dependency management.
  • Help ensure identity‑related controls, processes, and procedures align with security policies, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and 2+ years of experience
  • Experience supporting Identity and Access Management (IAM), Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), cybersecurity, information technology, or related technology initiatives through academic projects, internships, or professional experience.
  • Understanding of identity lifecycle management, access certifications, role management, entitlement governance, and provisioning concepts.
  • Experience analyzing information, troubleshooting technical issues, and documenting business or technical requirements.
  • Experience supporting SailPoint, Saviynt, or other enterprise Identity Governance and Administration platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • Familiarity with directory services, authentication technologies, single sign‑on, multifactor authentication, identity federation, or Microsoft Entra ID environments.
  • Understanding of role-based access control, least privilege principles, segregation of duties, and access governance practices.
  • Experience working with IAM ecosystem technologies such as ServiceNow, CyberArk, Workday, Active Directory, or Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, SailPoint certifications, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or related cybersecurity credentials.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$83,200.00 - $124,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.

Compensation and benefits information pertain solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well‑being program).
