Job summary

Optimum Communications Inc. is seeking a Cyber Security Incident Commander to lead end-to-end incident response, coordinating IT, Legal, Communications/PR, Engineering and executives to quickly detect, analyze, and remediate breaches while minimizing business impact.

You will perform forensics, threat hunting, and analysis across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments; leverage AI-enabled tooling, and develop mature playbooks, tabletop exercises, and post-incident reviews to strengthen

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Advanced certifications such as CISSP or incident-response/forensics GIAC certifications preferred.
• Minimum five years in IT.
• Minimum three years in cyber security operations and incident response.
• Experience with event/log analysis and security tools in large enterprise networks.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead incident command for mid-tier and major security incidents across cross-functional teams.
• Triage alerts, prioritize incidents by severity and business impact, contain and remediate breaches.
• Perform host/network/memory and cloud forensics; preserve evidence and maintain chain of custody.
• Translate technical events into business-focused briefs for executives and the CISO.
• Develop and mature incident response playbooks and tabletop exercises.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, regulators, and third-party vendors.
• Develop security policies, perform risk assessments, and drive continuous improvement.
