Job summary

RISA is seeking a Cybersecurity Implementation Engineer to build, deploy, and sustain cybersecurity infrastructure for an Intelligence Community customer on‑premises and in the cloud. You will bring deep expertise in one security platform and help set the enterprise roadmap, working directly with the owner.

The role requires active TS/SCI, ability to obtain a government polygraph, and 6+ years in cybersecurity engineering.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Post‑hire polygraph required.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience; equivalents accepted.
• 6+ years in network or cybersecurity engineering on large-scale DoD or enterprise networks.
• IAT III / IASAE II certifications and CSSP Infrastructure Support within 120 days of start.
• Deep expertise in NDR/EDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, F5, and email/web security gateways.
• Strong cloud and compute/storage/transport security knowledge.
• Proven Windows and Linux server administration experience; independent contributor.

Responsibilities

• Engineer cybersecurity solutions on AWS (EC2, EBS, ELB, S3, RDS); manage AMIs and maintenance.
• Research and implement enterprise cybersecurity capabilities and enhancements.
• Evaluate upgrades for performance and standardization with capacity planning.
• Develop architecture diagrams and technology roadmaps.
• Create test plans and docs for configuration changes before customer approval.
• Represent customer requirements in technical exchanges with government agencies and support security assessments.
• Serve as team or task lead when needed.

RISA is hiring a Cybersecurity Implementation Engineer to build, deploy, and sustain the cybersecurity infrastructure of an Intelligence Community customer, on premises and in the cloud. You bring deep expertise in one security platform and working knowledge of the rest, and you help set the roadmap for where the enterprise goes next. You will talk to the owner here, not a recruiting queue.

What You Will Do

• Build, deploy, configure, and maintain on-premises and cloud-based cybersecurity infrastructure and applications on Windows and Linux.
• Engineer cybersecurity solutions on AWS - EC2, EBS, ELB, S3, and RDS; provision AMIs and handle installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Research and implement enterprise-wide cybersecurity capabilities and enhancements.
• Evaluate and recommend upgrades for performance, standardization, and best practice, with hardware and software recommendations sized for future capacity.
• Develop and maintain architecture diagrams and the capability and technology roadmap.
• Develop test plans and documentation for configuration changes before customer approval.
• Represent customer requirements in technical exchanges with other government agencies, and support security assessment and authorization.
• Serve as a team or task lead when needed.

What You'll Bring

• S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI.
• Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a Government polygraph after hire.
• Education and experience, per the contract labor category criteria: Bachelor's degree in a field applicable to the position plus 6 years of relevant experience. Equivalents accepted - Master's plus 4, Associate's plus 8, or High School diploma/GED plus 10.
• 6+ years in network or cybersecurity engineering on large-scale enterprise or global networks, with an emphasis on DoD capabilities.
• DoD 8140.01 / 8570.01-M IAT Level III and IASAE Level II certifications, and CSSP Infrastructure Support within 120 days of start.
• Deep expertise in one of, and working knowledge of others among: NDR, EDR, next-generation firewalls, IDS/IPS, F5, and email/web security gateways.
• Strong grasp of cloud infrastructure, security principles, compute, storage, and transport.
• Expertise in Windows and Linux server operating systems.
• Demonstrated experience modernizing complex enterprise cybersecurity systems.
• Strong writing and briefing skills for senior and executive audiences, and the ability to work independently.
