Freedom Technology Solutions Groups in Springfield, VA is seeking a Cybersecurity Implementation Engineer to build and maintain cybersecurity infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments. The role involves implementing AWS-like services (EC2, EBS, ELB, S3) and provisioning AMIs, while aligning with enterprise DoD security goals.

The candidate should have 6+ years in DoD cybersecurity engineering, TS/SCI with polygraph, and DoD 8570-M IAT III/IASAE II certifications.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in NDR/EDR/NGFW/IDS-IPS and related security tooling.
• Strong cloud and on-prem infrastructure knowledge.
• Windows and Linux server operating systems expertise.
• Excellent written and spoken communication; ability to present to executives.
• 6+ years in network/cybersecurity engineering in DoD environments.
• DoD 01 and IAT III / IASAE II certifications; TS/SCI with polygraph.
• CSSP Infrastructure Certification within 120 days of start.

Job description

Freedom Technology Solutions Groups is looking to add a Cybersecurity Implementation Engineer to the team in Springfield, VA.

Responsibilities:

• Build, deploy, configure, and maintain on-premises and cloud-based cybersecurity infrastructure and applications running on Windows and Linux operating systems
• Engineer and implement cybersecurity solutions leveraging cloud services such as EC2, EBS, ELB, S3, and Provision AMIs, perform software installations, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Assist with research and implementation of enterprise-wide cybersecurity solutions/capabilities/enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and
• Evaluate and recommend changes and/or technology upgrades to address performance, standardization and industry best practices
• Provide specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
• Represent customer requirements in technical exchanges with other government
• Develop and maintain architecture

Qualifications:

• A deep expertise in one of the following areas and working knowledge of one or more of the other following: Network Detection and Response (NDR), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs), Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), F5 platforms, email/web security gateways
• Strong technical background with a thorough understanding of cloud infrastructure, security principles, compute, storage, and transport.
• Expertise in Windows and Linux server operating
• Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to develop analytical documents and present oral presentations to senior/executive management
• Ability to work independently with little direction and guidance
• 6+ years related technical experience in network/cybersecurity engineering and experience with large-scale enterprise/global networks in a highly diverse environment with an emphasis in DoD capabilities
• Demonstrated experience modernizing complex enterprise cybersecurity
• Candidate must have a TS/SCI with ability to obtain a Polygraph
• Certified DoD 01 and 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical Officer (IAT) Level III and Information Assurance System Architecture and Engineering Specialist (IASAE) Level II.
• CSSP Infrastructure Support certification within 120 days of start
