Job summary

Nightwing in Arlington, VA is seeking a Cyber Host Forensic Analyst to support onsite incident response for civilian Government agencies and critical asset owners. You will acquire artifacts, triage devices, correlate findings with network events, and prepare forensic write ups for reports. Candidates must have TS/SCI clearance, U.S.

citizenship, and at least 2 years of cyber forensics experience. The role requires teamwork across locations, strict evidence handling, and experience with tools

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required with ability to obtain DHS Suitability.
• 2+ years of directly relevant cyber forensic investigations experience.
• Ability to create forensically sound duplicates of evidence and write cyber investigation reports.

Responsibilities

• Acquire/collect computer artifacts for onsite engagements.
• Triage devices to assess evidentiary value.
• Correlate forensic findings with network events for intrusion narratives.
• Document system state prior to imaging when available.
• Perform incident triage from a forensic perspective.
• Track and document forensic analysis from start to finish.
• Process and analyze digital evidence and prepare written reports.
• Coordinate with Government and customer personnel to validate alerts.
• Draft forensic write-ups for inclusion in reports and other products.
• Publish CNDEF guidance and incident findings as needed.
• Trace activity to its source and document findings for forensic reports.
• Document original condition of digital evidence with photos and hashes.
• Imaging digital media and assisting team members as needed.
• Use hashing algorithms to validate forensic images.
• Learn adversary TTPs with mentor guidance.
• Analyze behaviors of malicious software and underlying causes.
• Identify critical items across file systems to aid senior staff.
• Develop authoritative timelines using host/network logs.
• Identify deleted files and hidden data; document artifacts.
• Create forensically sound duplicates for data recovery/analysis.
