Job summary

Navy Federal Credit Union is seeking a risk and controls professional to identify, assess, and mitigate technical and operational risks across Fraud and Global Security. You will support risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with standards while partnering with cross‑functional teams.

The role involves collaborating with security and business units, conducting RCSA activities, and producing regular risk reports to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field with risk management focus.
• Experience assessing security and operational risks; mitigation strategies.
• Experience with risk assessments in fraud, information security, or related area.
• Experience documenting processes and mapping for risk assessments and controls.
• Ability to interpret technical data and its business impact.
• Proven reporting on risk findings and cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of risk assessment frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001).
• Strong attention to detail in risk and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct RCSAs on existing and new processes.
• Collaborate with Security teams to identify risks and mitigation.
• Assist in implementing Enterprise Operational Risk Management policies.
• Stay updated on regulations and best practices for fraud and risk.
• Support audits and assessments to ensure compliance.
• Provide regular risk reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Promote risk awareness and culture across the organization.
• Manage external vendors to ensure third‑party risk is controlled.
