Job summary

Ping Identity is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer II to help build out and deploy security automation, harden configurations, and support incident response across SaaS and enterprise systems. You will join the Security Engineering team to design reliable security solutions and collaborate with multiple teams to meet roadmap goals.

The role emphasizes incident response, threat detection, and secure by design principles, with an on-call rotation and opportunities to influence security strategy

Qualifications

• Experience with automation within Security Orchestration and Automation Tooling and bespoke scripting automation.
• Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, ideally Google Chronicle and YARA-L.
• Strong understanding of Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
• Experience with container technologies, notably Kubernetes and Docker in development and incident response context.
• Experience deploying and utilising Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in security engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of incident response playbooks.
• Perform incident response and coordination across teams.
• Lead in assessment of system design and change related to security.
• Be part of weekly on-call rotation.
• Design and implement engineered security solutions that are reliable and maintainable.
• Support in detection engineering activities.
• Identify security improvement opportunities and translate them into actionable solutions.
• Influence and align the team’s vision and strategy.
