Job summary

FastTek Global is seeking an IT Security Analyst in Troy, MI, to defend against cyber threats with emphasis on malware and vulnerability incidents. You will monitor Defender, Purview, and Sentinel, develop detections, and lead incident response across the enterprise.

The role requires 3–5 years of Microsoft security experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across IT teams. A US-citizenship or equivalent is required for ITAR considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, cybersecurity, related field, or equivalent experience.
• Cybersecurity certifications (e.g., Microsoft SC-100/200/300/400, CompTIA Security+/CySA+/SecurityX, GIAC GSEC/GCIH).
• 3–5 years of experience with Microsoft Defender, Purview, and Sentinel.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts, dashboards, and logs across Microsoft Defender, Purview, and Sentinel to detect incidents and prioritize remediation.
• Manage Defender policies, configurations, and deployment across the enterprise.
• Use Purview (DLP, eDiscovery) to enforce data protection policies.
• Develop detection rules and alerts for emerging threats.
• Respond to security incidents, perform containment, eradication, and recovery steps.
• Analyze root causes and implement preventive measures.
• Document IR activities and lessons learned to improve processes.
• Proactively hunt for threats using Defender XDR.
• Provide regular reports on security posture and incident metrics.
