Job summary

SkyePoint Decisions seeks a Cyber Data Analyst to support the DSCM program in Arlington, VA, onsite five days a week. The role focuses on analyzing cybersecurity and operational datasets, building dashboards, and delivering data-driven insights to leadership.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree with 9+ years of experience (or 7+ years with a Master's) and a Top Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; 9+ years of experience, or 7 years with a Master's, 4 years with a PhD.
  • Must possess or obtain one of several cybersecurity certifications before start date.
  • Minimum 2 years of coding experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of cybersecurity or data analytics experience.
  • Foundational cybersecurity knowledge or telemetry understanding.
  • Experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI/Tableau.
  • Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain metrics related to cyber activity, authentication trends, phishing events, and external threat activity.
  • Document data sources, reporting methodologies, and analytical processes for transparency and repeatability.
  • Support ad hoc reporting and operational data analysis efforts.

SkyePoint Decisions is seeking a Cyber Data Analyst to support the Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission (DSCM) program providing leading cyber and technology security experience to enable innovative, effective, and secure business processes.

This position is located in Arlington, VA and will be onsite 5 days a week. No hybrid/telework allowed.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze cybersecurity and operational datasets (e.g., network logs, authentication data, phishing activity, threat telemetry) to identify trends, anomalies, and patterns.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms to support operational and leadership reporting.
  • Perform data extraction, validation, cleansing, transformation, and enrichment using Python (Pandas) and SQL.
  • Support recurring reporting and analytics workflows by automating manual processes and improving data quality checks.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to support operational monitoring, situational awareness, and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity analysts and stakeholders to translate business and operational requirements into data-driven insights.
  • Develop and maintain metrics related to cyber activity, authentication trends, phishing events, and external threat activity.
  • Assist with identifying reporting gaps, data inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Document data sources, reporting methodologies, business rules, and analytical processes to support transparency and repeatability.
  • Support ad hoc reporting requests and operational data analysis efforts.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 9 years experience; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
    • An additional four (4) years of experience may be substituted in lieu of the bachelors degree requirement.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain one of the following certification before start date. Continued certification required as a condition of employment:
    • CySA+, CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CEH, CFR, CHFI, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), Cloud+, CND, GCED, GCIH, GICSP, SSCP
  • Minimum 2 years of coding experience (any programming language).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cybersecurity or data analytics.
  • Foundational cybersecurity knowledge or foundational understanding of network and host telemetry.
  • Experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) or more years of hands‑on experience with Python or SQL.
  • Experience working with Python/Pandas for data transformation, automation, and analytics.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity operations, threat analysis, or security monitoring.
  • Experience with large-scale operational or cybersecurity datasets.
  • Experience building automated reporting pipelines or analytics workflows.
  • Experience using data visualization tools to support leadership reporting and operational decision‑making.
  • Familiarity with supervised and unsupervised machine learning concepts.
Compensation

Salary Range: 100,000-124,000

The SkyePoint Decisions salary range for this position is a general guideline only. It represents an estimated range for this position and is just one piece of our total compensation package.

Salary at SkyePoint is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work schedule, the candidate’s combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, market data and business considerations.
