Job summary

FTI Consulting (SC) Inc. is seeking a Director in the Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Communications team to develop and manage crisis communications for active cybersecurity incidents and threats.

You will lead multi-stakeholder strategies, including ransomware, nation-state intrusions, and major breaches, with autonomy on smaller accounts and collaboration on larger teams. The role requires a passion for cybersecurity, flexible, fast-paced work, and a hybrid model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in crisis/issues management, cybersecurity, and/or corporate communications.
• Track record of managing communications with multiple stakeholders during crisis events.
• Excellent organizational skills and written and verbal presentation skills.
• Prior client service, consulting, agency experience is a must.
• Ability to advise and secure confidence of senior communications client contacts as well as account leads and junior team members.
• Proven project management track record and comfort managing staff at all levels.
• Excel, PPT – can keep deliverables moving against project plans and develop roadmaps.
• Ability to excel in fast-paced environments and manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic proposals and communications plans for clients and new business prospects.
• Serve as a primary client contact, representing the team in meetings and on client sites
• Manage client projects, including coordinating project rollouts and deadlines.
• Scenario plan for likely outcomes and develop corresponding communications strategies.
• Draft client materials and review junior team deliverables.
• Anticipate client and account team needs and address them with senior leaders.
• Participate in generation of new business proposals and presentations.
• Support development and marketing of thought leadership on emerging trends.
• Mentor junior team members and foster talent.
