Job summary

OpenAI, Inc. is seeking a Cybersecurity Applied AI Architect to partner with customers and help deploy OpenAI models, Codex, and agentic workflows to real cybersecurity use cases from SFHQ.

You will work with CISOs and security teams to identify valuable AI-enabled security outcomes and design practical architectures. Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical consulting, solutions engineering, security architecture, or equivalent customer-facing technical experience.
• Strong cybersecurity domain expertise across AppSec, cloud security, identity, vulnerability management, or incident response.
• Ability to communicate credibly with CISOs, CTOs, and security practitioners.
• Hands-on experience building prototypes or production systems with APIs, Python/JS, agents, CLIs, and CI/CD workflows.

Responsibilities

• Embed with strategic customers as the technical lead for AI-enabled cybersecurity workflows.
• Lead discovery across AppSec, DevSecOps, vulnerability management, SOC/IR, threat modeling, and cloud security.
• Build and deliver customer-facing demos, prototypes, playbooks, and reference architectures using OpenAI APIs and related tools.
• Scope pilots with clear success criteria, data requirements, and evaluation methods.
• Advise customers on safe implementation patterns including guardrails, sandboxing, and data handling.
• Translate between executive outcomes and practical implementation details for different audiences.
• Create reusable field assets like playbooks and FAQ to aid GTM and product feedback.
• Deliver high-signal feedback to Product, Engineering, and Security teams based on customer needs.
