Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Cybersecurity Applied AI Engineer to partner with customers and apply OpenAI models and tools to real cybersecurity use cases. You will engage CISOs and security teams to design practical architectures and move from prototype to durable deployment.

This role combines executive strategy, cyber depth, and hands-on solution design, including secure code review, vulnerability triage, threat modeling, and incident response workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical consulting, solutions engineering, or equivalent customer-facing tech experience.
• Expertise across AppSec, cloud security, identity, vulnerability management or incident response.
• Ability to communicate credibly with CISOs and security executives.
• Hands-on experience building prototypes or production systems with APIs and scripts.

Responsibilities

• Deeply embed with strategic customers as the technical lead for AI-enabled cybersecurity workflows.
• Lead discovery across AppSec, DevSecOps, vulnerability management, SOC/IR, and GRC automation.
• Build and deliver customer-facing demos, prototypes, workshops, proofs of concept and reference architectures.
• Scope pilots with success criteria, data needs, workflow integrations, and security constraints.
• Advise customers on safe implementation patterns including guardrails and data handling.
• Translate between executive outcomes and practitioner-level implementation details.
