Job summary

Raney Geotechnical, Inc. is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to perform field and shop testing and inspections on a variety of construction projects in the greater Sacramento/Stockton area.

Starting at $35/hour, salary is negotiable based on experience and certifications. The role requires AWS CWI certification and at least 3 years of materials testing and special inspections, plus strong communication skills and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) through AWS.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in materials testing and special inspections.
• Capable of field and shop testing and inspections.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word and Excel).

Responsibilities

• Inspect and document field and shop welding for code compliance and project docs.
• Familiar with construction materials standards (AISC, ASTM, AWS).
• Prepare daily reports of observations and test results.
• Interact with client representatives on projects.
• Attend client meetings as needed.
• Collaborate with fabrication and QA personnel to ensure quality.
• Sample and test construction materials per project standards.
