Raney Geotechnical, Inc. is seeking a Special Inspector to join the West Sacramento office. The role involves field testing and inspections across school, hospital, commercial, governmental, and residential projects in the greater Sacramento/Stockton area.

The position starts at $30/hour with negotiable salary based on experience, skillset, and certifications. Competitive benefits and a company vehicle are offered.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in materials testing and special inspections.
• Required certifications: ACI Field Testing, ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector, ICC Prestressed Concrete Special Inspector, ICC Structural Masonry, ICC Structural Steel and Bolting.
• Familiarity with CBC and DSA requirements; able to prepare daily reports and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and document compliance with approved project documents and applicable codes.
• Prepare daily observations and test result reports.
• Interact with client representatives at project sites and in meetings.
• Work with fabrication, construction, and quality personnel to verify quality at sites or facilities.
• Possess strong written and oral communication skills; proficient with MS Office.

Job description

Raney Geotechnical, Inc. is searching for a Special Inspector based out of our West Sacramento office to perform field testing and inspections services on a variety of construction projects, including school, hospital, commercial, governmental, and residential projects in the greater Sacramento/Stockton area.

Starting at $30/hour
*Salary is negotiable, depending on experience, skillset, and certifications.

Required Qualifications:

• American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Testing
• International Code Council (ICC) Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector
• ICC Prestressed (Post-Tension) Concrete Special Inspector
• ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector
• ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Special Inspector
• At least 3 years of experience in materials testing and special inspections.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the inspection and documentation to verify compliance with the approved project documents as well as the applicable building code and/or DSA requirements.
• Familiarity with construction materials standards, specifications, and codes (CBC).
• Prepare daily reports of observations and test results.
• Interact with client representatives (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites.
• Ability to attend client meetings.
• Ability to work with fabrication, construction, and quality personnel as part of the verification process to ensure quality standards are being met at the project site or in a fabrication facility.
• Familiarity with sampling and testing of construction materials (i.e. concrete, masonry grout, etc.) in accordance with project standards and specifications.
• Must possess strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
