Qualifications

• Current AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification is required.
• Ability to execute and train on 6G Welds.
• Minimum of 5 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of AWS welding codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of welding processes including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and GMAW (as applicable).
• Experience with welding codes and standards (AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, API, ISO, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Perform visual weld inspections in accordance with AWS, customer, and internal quality standards.
• Interpret welding symbols and drawings to ensure setup and travelers are correct.
• Verify compliance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and related records.
• Identify weld defects and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection records and support audits.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production to resolve weld quality issues.
• Assist with corrective actions and dispositioning of nonconforming material.
• Develop and deliver hands-on welding training for new hires and existing employees.
• Develop welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and maintain qualification records.
• Promote safety and Lean Manufacturing in welding operations.
