Job summary

Acuren is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to support operations in South Roxana, IL. This is a local callout position with potential travel as required by the client and project needs.

The role involves performing visual and non-destructive examinations in accordance with ASME CWI standards, documenting findings, and providing technical recommendations for safe operation and equipment integrity within client specifications.

Qualifications

• Must hold Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• 5–10 years' experience or 2+ years on-site experience.
• API experience a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of CWI and ASME standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and non-destructive examination of pressure retaining equipment per CWI standards and ASME.
• Submit technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition.
• Provide technical recommendations for repair, re-rate, replacement, or alteration of plant equipment.
• Provide input on welding and metallurgical issues.
• Provide guidance on non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
• Comply with all safety practices and participate in site safety initiatives.
• Willingness to travel if needed.
