Job summary

American Engineering Testing (AET) seeks a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to perform on-site CWI observations and support the construction materials testing (CMT) with field and laboratory testing in line with AWS, ASME, ASTM, and related standards.

The role involves coordinating with project managers, preparing inspection reports, and ensuring QA/QC compliance while promoting safety and professional development within a 100% employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• BS degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Physical Science with a minimum of 6 months of experience.
• 2 years of Technical School and 1 year of experience OR HS Diploma with 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform CWI observations on active construction sites and interpret results; prepare reports documenting results.
• Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining QA procedures.
• Maintain current procedures and equipment calibrations.
• Maintain client contact for ongoing projects and interface with the project manager to prepare proposals, schedule laboratory and field testing activities.
• Assist in the promotion and marketing of AET.
• Training to obtain and maintain certifications; stay updated with current technologies used by AET.
• Conduct field, laboratory, and office activities in accordance with QA/QC procedures and safety policies.
• Interact effectively with diverse teams, work independently in the field, and resolve issues constructively.
