Job summary

eShocan LLC, in Michigan, is seeking a Powertrain Testing Lab Operations specialist to support the testing readiness and daily operations of the Powertrain Testing department.

You will execute tests on engines, powertrains, and full-vehicle dynos, verify CFR-compliant results, and analyze emissions data to optimize performance. The role includes collaboration with Battery Lab and Prototype teams and requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of propulsion systems and CFR emission testing requirements.
• Proficiency with data acquisition tools and modeling platforms.

Responsibilities

• Support Powertrain Testing operations in the Michigan lab.
• Execute tests on engines, powertrains, and full-vehicle dynos.
• Validate compliance with CFR procedures and certification tests (FTP, HWFE, US06).
• Analyze emission outputs, PM, and fuel economy data to optimize performance.
• Troubleshoot equipment and resolve test-related issues in controlled environments.
• Coordinate with on-site teams and R&D activities such as Battery Lab, Prototype Development, and Powertrain Testing (Full Vehicle and Component Level).
• Provide engineering support and resolve issues with testing equipment.

Job description

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Powertrain Testing - Lab Operations function at the Michigan site.

Reporting to the Manager of Operations Central Lab Ops, the person in this role will support the Powertrain Testing department's objective to ensure testing readiness.

What you ll be doing

• Test Execution: engine, powertrain, or vehicle chassis dynamometers and emission analyzers.
• Compliance Validation: Verify test results against Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and certification procedures (such as FTP, HWFE, and US06).
• Data Analysis: Analyze emission outputs, particulate matter (PM), and fuel economy data to optimize engine performance.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose equipment or vehicle anomalies in controlled test cells and environmental chambers
• Support on site teams to ensure facilities are supporting current and new R&D activities.

What you bring
