Job summary

Northwestern Memorial seeks a Patient Care Technician to support the RN in direct and indirect patient care across unit duties. You will be part of the team under RN supervision, delivering compassionate care to adults and neonates.

Core responsibilities include admissions/discharges, vitals, specimen collection, newborn care, and safe equipment handling. CNA certification or nursing program enrollment, CPR/BLS, and safety training are required.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or enrollment in nursing program.
• CPR recognition by the American Heart Association.
• High school diploma; some college or nursing education preferred.
• Experience in a health care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care under RN supervision and assist with admissions, transfers, discharges.
• Take and record vitals, weight, intake/output; perform basic assessments.
• Collect specimens, obtain capillary glucose, and perform phlebotomy as needed.
• Provide newborn care, assist with feeding, baths and daily activities.
• Transport patients, prepare rooms, and maintain a safe, clean environment.
