Job summary

VetEvolve is hiring a Certified Veterinary Technician for Maricamp Animal Hospital in Ocala, FL. The CVT will assist veterinarians, monitor anesthesia, perform diagnostics, and educate clients to ensure compassionate, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• CVT credential required and minimum of two years experience preferred.
• Proficient in anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, radiology, dentistry, and lab work.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle animals up to 130 pounds.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends or holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to hospitalized patients and monitor ongoing treatments.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgeries.
• Prepare, monitor, and recover patients during procedures.
• Perform urinalysis, hematology, fecals, and cytology with proper documentation.
• Operate radiology and ultrasound equipment following safety standards.
• Administer medications and vaccines and manage controlled substances.
• Maintain medical records, charge entries, and treatment plans.
• Educate clients on preventative care and treatment plans.
• Maintain sterile conditions in treatment and surgical areas.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Promote teamwork and professional communication across departments.
