Baptist Health is hiring a CVSU Patient Care Technician for the Dayshift at Baptist Medical Center South. You will support the patient care team and assist RNs, LPNs, and physicians with routine tasks in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma; CNA program preferred; one year of patient care experience preferred. BLS certification is required and training will be provided. This is a full-time, on-site position with a 1st shift schedule.

The PCT shall assist RNs, LPN's, and Physicians in the patient care process. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.**Education/Experience**: High School graduate or equivalent required. Graduate from a certified Nursing Assistant Program or a Health Occupations Program (HOSA) preferred. Completion of first clinical rotation as a Nurse Student (i.e. completion of ‘Nursing Fundamentals' course which includes assistance with Activities of Daily Living, vitals signs etc) or 1 year of experience in a patient care role in an acute care, nursing home or home care setting preferred.**License/Certification**: BLS required**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**: • Knowledge of body mechanics and basic safety, principles of physical care and comfort. • Medical terminology training preferred. • Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns. • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.**Work Conditions/Physical Requirements:**Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
