Job summary

Pro Med Healthcare Services is seeking a Surgical Technician for the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) on a 13-week contract. Start date ASAP with 3x12 day shifts, including 2 late shifts, plus one night per week and one weekend every four weeks of on-call coverage.

The role requires CST certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and preferred CVOR experience. The technician will assist the surgical team, maintain sterile technique, and support instrument readiness and OR readiness

Qualifications

• Current Surgical Technologist certification (CST) required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited surgical technology program preferred.
• Experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy, surgical procedures, and instrument identification.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operative suite and surgical field to ensure a safe patient care environment.
• Assist with instrument gathering, supplies, and serving as surgical assistant as needed.
• Mentor, precept or train in various modalities; participate in performance improvement initiatives.
• Ensure unit compliance with Joint Commission standards; may require call or late coverage.
• Support inventory, ordering and stocking ORs and perioperative areas.
