Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate with additional specific training.
• Two years post-secondary education in an accredited Physician Assistant program or comparable training.
• Certification in Surgical Assisting and/or evidence of employment in surgical assisting.
• BLS certification required upon hire or within 60 days.
• Experience in independently harvesting leg veins preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively demonstrates the organization’s mission and core values.
• Knows and adheres to laws and regulations pertaining to patient health and safety.
• Assists with surgical procedures in operating room and in clinic.
• Conducts initial assessment of patients during office visits.
• Schedules diagnostic test procedures as directed.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Provides age-appropriate care based on patient growth and development.
• Collaborates with clinic medical home team and supports a team construct.
• Adheres to safety, infection control and employee health policies.
• Performs other duties aligned with job purpose.

Education

High school graduate with additional specific training

Successful certification by an accredited organization in surgical assisting
