Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program is required.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
• One year of experience as a CVOR Surgical Technician is required.
• Certification as a Surgical Technician is preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Scrub Technician performs scrub duties throughout the surgical procedure as part of the surgical team.
• A scrub tech works under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Scrub techs assist the nurse specialty leader in maintaining surgeon preferences for listed surgical procedures.
• Maintain a current knowledge of all new procedures and equipment associated with the specialty and assist other team members as needed.
• The Scrub Tech leadership role requires continuous competency review, the development of new competencies as technology changes, and outstanding teamwork with the Registered Nurse specialty leader.
