Job summary

MedStar Health’s CVOR seeks a Clinical Specialist to serve as the clinical expert in the cardiovascular operating room, providing consultation on complex patient care and promoting evidence-based practice. This role leads quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical excellence.

Working collaboratively with nursing teams and interdisciplinary partners, the Clinical Specialist coordinates education, mentors staff, and supports professional development while applying research and best

Qualifications

Master's degree in Nursing required.
Doctoral degree in Nursing Education or Healthcare Administration preferred.
5-7 years of progressively more responsible nursing experience.
Experience with larger programs handling transplants, VADs, heart failure, aortic, robotic, congenital heart surgery a plus.
Experience in nursing advanced practice role preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide consultation on complex patient care and lead initiatives focused on quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical excellence.
Coordinate education and mentor staff; support professional development.
Collaborate with nursing teams and interdisciplinary partners.
