LCMC Health in Louisiana seeks a Cardiovascular Operating Room Surgical Technologist to support open heart, thoracic, and vascular procedures. You will prepare the CVOR, assist surgeons, and maintain a sterile field in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years as a Surgical Tech with at least 1 year in CVOR, CST certification, and current BLS. ACLS preferred. Sign-on bonus and day shifts available.

Competenze

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA).
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Surgical Tech with at least 1 in CVOR.

Mansioni

• Prepare the CVOR with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to surgical procedures.
• Assist cardiovascular surgeons during procedures by anticipating needs and providing appropriate instruments.
• Maintain a sterile surgical field and follow proper aseptic techniques throughout procedures.
• Collaborate closely with RNs, perfusionists, anesthesiologists, and surgical team members to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
• Set up and troubleshoot specialized equipment, including heart-lung machines, endoscopic tools, and vascular graft materials.
• Perform instrument counts with the circulating nurse per hospital policy to ensure no retained items.
• Handle and care for surgical specimens appropriately.
• Participate in post-procedure cleanup, including decontamination and sterilization of instruments.
• Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and instrument usage as required.

Formazione

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program

Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA)

Current BLS certification
