Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a skilled Medical Coder with expert knowledge of cardiovascular and interventional radiology coding. You will assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for complex CVIR procedures in an acute care setting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

You will reconcile coding with HIM and clinical departments and liaise with physicians and auditors. The role requires 3–5 years of applicable experience, strong attention to detail, and ongoing education to stay current with guidelines.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of applicable experience in medical coding.
• Expert knowledge of medical and clinical terminology and disease processes related to CVIR.
• Experience with diagnostic angiography and interventional procedures (e.g., pacemakers, etc.).
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 guidelines; commitment to continuing education.
• Strong attention to detail to reduce coding and billing errors.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes for CVIR procedures.
• Reconcile charges and coding discrepancies between HIM and clinical departments.
• Communicate with auditing staff, management and physicians.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and continuing education.
