Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and provide care to critically ill cardiovascular patients.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic status, ventilators, and critical care equipment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, vasoactive drips, blood products, and advanced cardiac treatments.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergencies.
• Assist with care of post-operative cardiac/vascular surgery patients.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, respiratory therapists, and the care team.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and recovery.
• Maintain accurate documentation and electronic medical records.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) – CVICU provides specialized, patient-centered care to critically ill patients with cardiovascular and cardiothoracic conditions. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individualized care, monitors hemodynamic and cardiac status, administers medications and advanced therapies, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• CCRN certification preferred.
• Recent CVICU, ICU, CCU, or critical care nursing experience preferred.
