Job summary

Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus is seeking a CVICU nurse to care for critically ill cardiovascular patients on a 14-bed unit with advanced device support (ECMO, LVAD, Impella). You will work day/night 7:00am–7:30pm or 7:00pm–7:30am, with weekends and holidays required.

Minimum qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program, current RN license, BLS, ACLS within hire or within year, and one year of acute care experience (or military RN). A BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS certification required upon hire or within first year.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients' conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and families.
