Job summary

USA Health Providence Hospital in Mobile, Alabama seeks a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Critical Care Intensivist to join a dedicated Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) supporting a growing cardiothoracic and vascular program.

The CVICU Intensivist will care for postoperative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular patients, including ECMO cases, in a physician-led ICU with close collaboration alongside surgeons.

Qualifications

• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Critical Care Intensivist
• Experience in high-acuity surgical or cardiovascular critical care settings
• ECMO management experience preferred
• Ventilator management, hemodynamic support, invasive monitoring, bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomy, chest tube management, CRRT, and bedside TEE interpretation preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary critical care physician for postoperative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients, including ECMO cases.
• Collaborate with cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons in a physician-led CVICU team.
• Support high-acuity cardiovascular patients and contribute to a structured call schedule.
