Job summary

Palmetto-General-Hospital in Florida seeks an experienced CVICU RN to deliver advanced professional nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with life-threatening illness, in collaboration with the medical team. You will perform complex assessments, support treatments, and assist physicians while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to meet unit standards and patient goals.

Required certifications include Florida RN licensure, ACLS, BLS, and CVICU-specific certification or coursework;

Qualifications

• Must meet CVICU clinical competency standards.
• Excellent physical assessment skills.
• Previous Critical Care experience.
• EKG course completion.
• Previous CVICU experience or CVICU course preferred.
• Visual and hearing senses adequate to assess changes in physiological condition.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
• Ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition.
• Ability to work harmoniously with others.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Delivers advanced professional nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with real or potential life-threatening illness.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to provide age-appropriate care.
• Performs nursing techniques for patient comfort and well-being.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Prepares equipment and assists physician during treatments and examinations.
• Supervises and instructs support staff to ensure care to multiple patients.
• Uses critical thinking to modify the plan of care based on patient outcomes.
