Job summary

CoorsTek, Inc. is seeking a CVD Technician for Swing shift to set up and operate CVD furnaces, handling hazardous chemicals and performing routine maintenance. The role requires following safety protocols and working with various machine equipment to ensure quality coatings.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in manufacturing, high school diploma, and familiarity with reactor operations, temperature, pressure, and gas flow control. Training on day shift is possible.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CVD furnaces with supervision.
• Load and unload furnaces safely.
• Perform basic furnace maintenance and insulation replacement.
• Monitor furnace conditions and adjust during coating.
• Shut down furnaces during emergencies and power loss.
• Perform minor equipment maintenance (oil/filter changes).
• Operate grinding equipment for graphite/silicon carbide.
• Review job orders for specs and quantities.
• Transport hazardous chemicals using forklift.
• Install and extract hazardous chemicals into tanks.
• Identify root causes of quality issues in the process.

CVD Technician - Swing

Responsible for the set-up and operation of CVD furnaces. Develops and uses hazardous chemicals, related to product and equipment. Performs preventative maintenance and works with assortment of machine equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Load and Unload CVD furnaces without supervision.
• Tear out and Re-line CVD furnaces without supervision.
• Provide limited furnace maintenance, including replacement of insulation, heating elements, and other components.
• Monitor and adjust CVD furnaces during coating.
• Operate and/or shut down CVD furnaces during emergency situations (i.e. power loss, acts of nature, etc.).
• Perform minor preventative maintenance to various pieces of equipment (i.e. oil changes, filter changes, valve replacements, etc.).
• Operate equipment for grinding graphite and/or silicon carbide (i.e. lathe, drill press, surface grinder, etc.).
• Examines job order to determine quantity, specifications, and special instructions.
• Safely operates forklift to transport hazardous chemicals.
• Installs and un-installs hazardous chemicals into tanks.
• Troubleshoots quality concerns and identifies root causes of issues during process.
• Wears required personal protective equipment at all times in areas where mandatory.

Shift

• Swing: Monday - Thursday: 3:00pm - 1:00am
• 10 hour shifts
• Must be able to train on Day Shift

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

• 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment

• Understanding operation method of reactor (start up, shut down)
• Understanding temperature, pressure, voltage, current and gas flow
• Understanding all sorts of valves
• Method of writing log sheet
• Method of processing and removing graphite

Target Hiring Range

Hourly: USD 23.92 - USD 28.95. Actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills and education.
