Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor in Taylor, TX is seeking a CVD/Thin Films Engineer to lead new process qualification, tool-to-tool output matching, and process health management. You will develop rework procedures, design defenses against excursions, and work with senior engineers to scale ALD/PECVD thin film processes.

You will monitor SPC charts, understand process chemistries, and respond to abnormalities with corrective action plans, while keeping a weekly process reference and collaborating

Qualifications

• Fundamentals of statistical process control (SPC).
• Fundamentals of CVD chemistries and logic circuits.
• Basic project management skills.
• Be proficient with Microsoft Windows based applications.

Responsibilities

• Process Transfer: transfer and qualification of process recipes from parent line; collect metrology data to ensure films meet specs; ensure film properties across fabs; set up defense lines against abnormal processing conditions.
• Sustaining: understand wafer recovery and tool UI, recipe structure and parameters; monitor SPC charts; understand downstream impacts of chemistries; respond to abnormalities with troubleshooting and corrective actions; communicate updates to technicians.
• Continuous Improvement: work with senior engineers to design experiments to improve yield, reliability, cost, and throughput; develop rework and disposition plans; maintain a process reference book weekly.
