SpaceX in Texas seeks a CVD Equipment Engineer for its solar cell factory within Starlink. You will own PECVD equipment used to manufacture silicon heterojunction cells at scale, ensuring tool availability, reliability, and uptime while collaborating with the Process Engineering team.

You will drive high-throughput production, run experiments, and develop preventive maintenance programs to support 24/7 operations, helping power Starlink satellites and future missions.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 2+ years owning and maintaining CVD/PECVD equipment in high-volume environments.
• Experience handling hazardous chemicals safely.

Responsabilidades

• Install, qualify, maintain, and improve high-throughput PECVD equipment for silicon solar cell manufacturing.
• Drive reliability and uptime for large-volume production with minimal downtime.
• Run experiments and analyze data to improve capacity (UPH) and reduce tool variation.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies and spare parts programs.
• Lead root cause analysis on equipment issues including vacuum, RF, gas delivery, temp control.
• Collaborate with Process Engineers to implement new process requirements on equipment.
• Evaluate next-generation PECVD tools for 1GW+ scale production.
• Work with vendors on equipment design improvements and custom solutions.
• Establish hardware KPIs (OEE, MTBF, MTTR) and SPC for stability.
• Ensure cleanroom and high-reliability standards; communicate factory state to leadership.
