SpaceX is seeking a PECVD Process Engineer to lead development, optimization, and scaling of PECVD processes for high‑efficiency silicon solar cells used in Starlink satellites and Starship missions. Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in PECVD process engineering, preferably in SHJ/HJT or TOPCon solar, semiconductor, or display manufacturing.
• Experience scaling PECVD processes to high-volume production (>1GW/year).
• Strong understanding of vacuum systems, plasma physics, gas‑phase and surface chemistry.

Aufgaben

• Design, qualify, and optimize PECVD processes for SHJ intrinsic passivation layers and doped layers.
• Lead process development for new toolsets and materials.
• Own chamber conditioning strategy and clean intervals to maximize tool uptime.
• Collaborate with CVD Equipment Engineering on tool qualification and throughput improvements.
• Develop manufacturing processes, equipment, and facilities improvements.
• Analyze production processes from first principles and DOE-based experiments.
• Develop and optimize experiments to diagnose and fix manufacturing problems.
• Perform defect characterization to improve yields.
• Prepare project plans, budgets, and cost/benefit analyses.
