Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS preferred; can obtain within 1 year if not current.
• ARRT licensure as RT(R)(CV), RT(R)(CI) or RT(R)(VI) and MD licensure.
• RCIS (CIC) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain interventional labs and equipment for cardiovascular procedures.
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular interventions.
• Monitor patient status and vital signs during procedures; respond to changes.
• Ensure safety standards, infection control, and QA protocols are followed.
• Document procedural details and maintain patient records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with tech advances.

The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical expertise in cardiovascular interventional procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. This role requires proficiency in operating and maintaining specialized interventional equipment, assisting physicians during complex procedures, and adhering to established protocols and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain interventional labs and equipment for cardiovascular procedures.
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular interventions.
• Monitor patient status and vital signs throughout procedures, responding promptly to changes.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, infection control, and quality assurance protocols.
• Document procedural details accurately and maintain patient records.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with technological advancements.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification is preferred, but the employee has one year to obtain the certification if the ACLS is a first time endeavor.
• Certification from the ARRT as an RT(R)(CV), RT(R)(CI) or RT(R)(VI) and licensure by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist.
• OR Certification from the CIC for RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) is required.
