Job summary

Petersen Incorporated is seeking a Tooling Specialist to act as the cutting tool SME for the Design Engineering group and machine shop. You will own and maintain the TDM Global library, select tooling for each job, generate preliminary tool lists, and produce tool assembly prints for production.

Regular shop-floor engagement is expected to support tooling questions and tooling data integrity. The role interfaces with CNC programmers, estimators, and the Manufacturing Engineer on tooling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent tooling experience.
• Strong knowledge of machine shop tooling including tools, holders, inserts, and collets.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and machining operations.

Responsibilities

• Select and specify machine shop tooling per job - cutting tools, holders, inserts, etc.
• Review drawings to determine tooling needs and generate preliminary tool lists.
• Maintain and build the TDM Global library of tool items and assemblies.
• Coordinate with Estimating and Manufacturing Engineer on tooling requirements for fixtures.
