Job summary

ADP, Inc. in Eagan, MN is seeking a fabric cutting operator to perform non-standard cutting jobs and operate large format cutting machines to specification.

You will read production orders, select fabrics, and ensure the correct calculators or patterns are used to cut accurately. You will also perform light maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot issues, prioritize jobs to meet shipping deadlines, and report fabric or quantity errors to a supervisor as part of a team-oriented production

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • NoExperience required.
  • Experience in fabric cutting not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Complete non-standard or custom cutting jobs within guidelines.
  • Cut fabrics using large format cutting machines to measurements.
  • Use provided calculators or patterns to create a cut size.
  • Perform minor regular maintenance of machines.
  • Ensure correct calculator for each fabric type and report errors.
  • Troubleshoot issues and escalate to supervisor when needed.
  • Follow production schedule to prioritize shipping-ready items.
  • Understand finished products and report fabric or quantity errors.
  • May assist in other areas as required by the business.

Salary Range: $20.00 To $22.00 Hourly

Summary

Primarily responsible for completing non-standard or custom cutting jobs within established guidelines

Cut fabrics using various large format cutting machines to measurements

Responsible for using provided calculators or patterns to create a cut size

Responsible for minor regular maintenance of the machines

Have a good working knowledge of the different types of fabric used in production, make sure that the correct calculator is used for each type

Troubleshoot issues and/or job questions as necessary and escape to more experienced printer , Group Lead or S upervisor if appropriate .

Use a provided schedule to ensure items are cut in a timely manner , prioritize items that are shipping first

Understand the different finished products being created and report any errors in fabric type or quantity

Understand the different types of common issues with fabric: slubs , waves, waking, banding, slow fire, etc. Report these errors to a supervisor or lead.

May be asked to assist in other areas as required by the business.
