Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of cutting experience preferred.
• Read work instructions and business memos accurately.
• Effective communication with all levels of the organization.
• Basic math to solve practical problems (measurements, calculations).
• Interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
• Prevent errors and solve problems on prepress machines.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Organized, able to plan and follow through with minimal supervision.
• Zund experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and adjust cutter machine per instructions and job requirements.
• Set up automatic cutting programs manually into cutter machine.
• Operate cutter machine and ancillary equipment to cut material to size.
• Evaluate and decide quality of product while cutting.
• Review job tickets and plan work processes to meet customer specifications.
• Keep accurate press sheet information with dates and counts.
• Monitor machine during runs and adjust to specifications as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance (blade replacement, lubrication, waxing).
• Notify supervision of problems and complete work orders for parts/repairs.
• Prepare load flags on outgoing loads showing next operation or destination.
• All other duties as assigned.
