Job summary

Mohawk Industries, a Fortune 500 global flooring leader, seeks a hands-on manufacturing operator to join our Georgia production team. You will operate equipment to cut, measure, and wrap rolls, inspect quality, and follow system instructions to maintain safety and efficiency.

The role emphasizes basic computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to read English, with lift truck certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required to operate systems.
• Ability to read and write standard English and numbers.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
• Some mechanical ability preferred.
• Strong communication skills to interact with team.
• Must have or obtain lift truck license/certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to cut, measure and wrap rolls of carpet or vinyl.
• Inspect rolls for processing and quality; load tickets.
• Process roll data in AS400 and Alcon system using scanner.
• Inspect product for defects, color codes, and make quality decisions.
• Follow system instructions for reverse rolls and safety procedures.
• Replace worn blades and tape rolls; observe equipment for malfunctions.
• Other duties as assigned by supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to cut, measure and/or wrap rolls of broadloom carpet or vinyl
• Inspect rolls for processing (cut tape, load core, pull tickets).
• Process roll into AS400 and Alcon system by using hand-held scan gun.
• Inspect product for defects, damage, correct width and color/style and make necessary quality decisions.
• Be able to follow system instructions for reverse rolls
• Must understand quality standards and color codes
• Print and apply tickets and labels for identifications purposes.
• Observe operations of the equipment to detect malfunctions.
• Replace worn blades and tape rolls
• Other duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write in standard English and numbers

• Good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with others
• Ability to apply common sense in understanding how to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations
• Must have valid lift truck license or complete lift truck certification
• Physical ability to reach, sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time
